Apiary in the Sky, LLC is a Newark-based organization that focuses on urban beekeeping, agriculture and environmental redevelopment. Founded in 2020, we activate abandoned lots and inactive corridors with urban gardens and apiaries. This removes years of neglect by replacing it with innovative, sustainable solutions. We partner with local residents to make our spaces sanctuaries for healing and community education on the important role that bees play in our food ecosystem. Our goal, by 2025, is to have a minimum of 25 beehives spread across each of the City’s five wards.
